Welcome to your American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Region, which encompasses 7 chapters. We are a 96% volunteer workforce with a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, whether you have five hours a day, five hours per week or five hours per year. The Red Cross delivers programs and services in our community through the support of the people just like you - giving their time, energy and talents to help others.

Why Volunteer?
Today, more than 1.2 million people volunteer with the Red Cross nationwide, and the ratio of Red Cross volunteers to paid staff is 36 to 1. One in every 200 Americans is a Red Cross volunteer. As a Red Cross volunteer you have the opportunity to network with others, strengthen your community, gain valuable experience, improve in self-development, and gain that volunteer gratification feeling of helping others who need it the most. Here at our chapter we like to say "volunteering is the best job you will ever have and not get paid for it." Essentially, when it comes down to it, Red Cross volunteers are neighbors helping neighbors. With the help of our dedicated volunteers the Red Cross is the preeminent provider of life saving services, including disaster preparedness, emergency social services, health and safety training,& in some areas local non-emergency transportation.

2. Complete the background check.
      A. Go to Background Check
      B. Click the Black Bar that reads “Request a background check”
      C. On the United States map, click Texas
      D. Click Texas Gulf Coast Region
      E. Follow the steps provided on webpage

3. Sign up for Volunteer Orientation. Click on a date below and register as a new user.
